I grew up in El Monte and have driven by it over 1000 times but never stopped to try it until today. I love Chinese fast food and especially orange chicken so I was very excited.
Ambiance: 4/5
The place had plenty of parking and the second you step into the store, it had that familial smell of tangy orange chicken and vinegar. There are faded signs posted "cash only" and the menu updated with paper with new prices. It just reminded me of my childhood.
Price: 5/5
We got two orders of the two item combos for about $24. They packed the food to the brim to a point where the lid couldn't close all the way. One order can definitely fill more than one person.
Food: 5/5
We were worried about the food since they gave us so much for the amount we paid. But I must say, the orange chicken was delicious. It was as good as or even better than Panda Express. We got the potato beef and orange chicken with chow mein and rice and broccoli beef and orange chicken with chow mein. My favorite was the potato. The flavors were great and the sauce that it came with paired well with the rice. The noodles were pretty good and flavorful. Everything was delicious except the fried rice was a bit dry. Overall the food was definitely worth the price!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 645130710405Feb 15, 2024
I finally got to try the place. Lots of ready food to choose from. I ordered the three items combo to try. Reasonably priced and big portion. Loved the fried noodle and char-siu.

The lady that was about to serve us picked up food that had fallen onto the counter with her bare hands and threw it BACK INTO THE TRAY OF FOOD
The same lady literally was just cleaning tables and sweeping before she walked over to serve us. Didn't wear gloves to clean or serve and didn't wash her hands. We Walked right out. She had shitty service too.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - 6087684Jan 15, 2024
I've been here a few times and its a very solid Chinese fast food spot in El Monte! The food is good and the pricing is decent. The food has good flavor and isn't too bland like some fast food locations. The noodles are perfectly cooked and not too oily. The service is decent. The lady isn't as friendly and welcoming but its mainly the food that matters. Overall its a good spot to go if you are craving some Chinese food and you are in the area! I always get the Noodles + Beef & broccoli + a random dish!

I went to this restaurant for the very first time first and foremost. It's my fault for coming without my wallet, but I did have Apple Pay on my phone which they do have accessible, but do not take because they say they do not get money when you do Apple Pay.
If you have ever seen their videos, they are like throwing an abundance of food into a Styrofoam box for takeout. When I saw the food that they had, it had been sitting there for a long time and was dried out completely. I drove all the way from Monterey Park to the restaurant and yes, it was my fault for not taking my credit cards, but the food was not appealing and in abundance. If you want to go there, try it out for yourselves but don't be set up for failure because the food was not appealing at all. It was dried out and even the lady that was behind the Connor said yes has been sitting here for a long time, when I bought the food was out I recommend Resterant based on what they show on whatever social media that they are on. I would never recommend this restaurant for consumption.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 6, 2023
For Chinese fast food, it was what I expected with a nod for the hot and sour soup, which is the only fresh made item I ordered. I did expect more based on some reviews and really wanted to try the spicy fried chicken and bbq pork. They were out of the bbq pork, but had the fried chicken, so went ahead with my order anyway. Also tried the pork ribs with black bean sauce and orange chicken. All three items were ok to good for steam table food, just not great. The fried rice and chow mein also tasted like it's been there a while. The nice lady suggested I come before lunch for the bbq pork, which I'll have to try. I'm guessing the other items will taste fresher too and will update my review.

The ladies working are very polite and gentle
The cook usually pokes out and says hello very Nice man . Food was fast and delicious as usual . Today I tried the shrimp fried rice and it's flavorful , good amount of shrimp and she threw in a fork and spoon :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 8, 2020Previous reviewThe only place I know where to get Egg Flower Soup. They always make it to order I believe. I usually call in and by the Time I pick it up through drive thru it's ready . The rice and chow mien are also super bomb

On a Sunday afternoon in April, my brother was craving for their fried chicken pieces. After lunch, we drove here for a snack. It was line to order and she has a takeout window too. While waiting, the owner was nice and greeted us and we watched her give heapings of food in the containers. I got the won tons in soup and brother got combo-bbq pork, fried chicken, chow mein. The chicken pieces taste good. There was several tables for people to eat there. So My won tons was in a container with the broth and she didn't separate the broth and wontons like other places. It was already too overcooked when I had a bowl. 2 stars on the failed won tons, 3 stars on fried chicken

Food is average. But staff is nice.
You can call them for party platter. They are responsive and you pay via zelle. You can order any dish they have and all are same price, $35 for medium and $70 for large.
Spicy fried chicken is probably their best dish. A little too dry for my taste but the party loved it. It's not too spicy, but you can taste the spicy kick.
They say the $70 can probably feed 20 people. From what I see, probably feed way more people, especially at a party where everybody just grab a little bit here and there!
Be careful of leaks when transporting them. Some dishes have lots of water like broccoli potato. They pack it well with aluminum foil and extra cardboard to carry, but it happens. Tip: don't recommend the broccoli potato - taste like nothing.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0 - Mar 30, 2023
Finding a great fast food Chinese takeout is hard these days. After reading reviews I decided to check this place out. I ordered a combo of orange chicken and chow mein. The chow mein was not greasy, and it tasted great. The orange chicken is delicious and has a good flavor. Combos come with plenty of food and prices are reasonable. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for delicious fast food Chinese takeout. Service has been great so far.
